Putting on Weight

posted by constance

I know I am putting on weight in the past 3 months… all because of the durians, mangoes and now puddings that I am so fond off. Soya beancurds with mango, durian and other flavours. I keep making them because they are so delicious. No need to spend money buying at all. Some of these stalls selling like hot cakes but some not totally moving. One stall near home has a powdery after taste whereas the other is so much better, in fact good!

I guess I must watch my diet now otherwise I’d have to prowl and do a search for weight management supplements, like http://www.shoppharmacycounter.com/t-Adipex-Medicine.aspx as recommended by a friend.

Always remember to get your local GP’s advise before you take any supplements. Every one of our body reacts differently so it may work for one but it may have health risks for some others. Do a proper research first or ask your doctor.

Mango Madness

posted by constance

Crazy over Mangoes!! I love mangoes. This picture is the one where I couldn’t help but buy as many as I could in a single day because it was on offer! Rainbow mangoes. They didn’t ripe proper and were so sour.. Next time I will learn from this episode of greediness. I should let it ripe fully before plonking into the fridge. sigh…

Thai honey mangoes are not in peak and slowly disappearing. I am a big fan of honey mangoes. At the best I could get about $1 for one. Now, I got two large for $6. Pretty expensive as the season not so peak anymore.

I waited for the two mangoes to ripe before I made Mango pudding and they just tasted so delicious…

My Lappy

posted by constance

My lappy is now officially 5 years old. And it is really still in tip top condition (touch wood!) My kids are not interested in mine now because they prefer to use daddy’s faster laptop. That is fine by me, because I will not have weird stuff downloaded onto mine every now and then and I face less risk of virus infection too.

But I worry that I may not be able to upgrade it anymore since Vista is almost gone from laptops sold in stores. And I wonder if I should shop for Cheap Dell Computers as a back up incase I start getting problems with this laptop.

Dell used to be very good till the last service they provided me, which sucks. But guess like they say, quality does not come cheap… Now with everyone prefering to use iPads and other smartphones, lesser people are as interested in laptops as before. And they are getting smaller whereas I just prefer larger screen laptops. Must be the ‘age’ thing..

Dirty Laundry

posted by constance

I can’t help but post this picture I took months back while at East Coast.

I remember once that once someone commented about people who stayed in flats had displayed their dirty laundry openly. It was a double meaning comment. Something that was suppose to be in private should stayed private. Kinda like family issues not meant for the public eyes. And yes, there are people in flats who also, displayed their laundry hung out like nobodys business.

This pic depicts that no matter how nice the sandcastle is, the dirty laundry lined near it just makes the whole photo an eyesore. See, I tried to blur them out and it will never work. Best is not to have it there. Whose dirty are those, I wonder?

For the Occasion

posted by constance

I can’t think of any gift for this lady. I want to wish her for a 85th Birthday which I can’t attend but would like to give her something. She is having a big event with all her family members, children, grandkids and great grandkids for her big birthday bash.

I am not familiar with her habits and interests and her daughter said I don’t really need to give anything but send a card would be just as nice. I think perhaps I should just check out ProFlowers, your online florist store to see if they could help me out with something suitable for this nice little old lady. Maybe a basket of flowers and a food hamper for her would be a great idea. Some of my friends recommended me photo frames but actually, I really dislike that idea because this is the type of convenient gift I myself do not like to receive… What would you suggest..

Last Bread

posted by constance

This is a picture of my last bread…sob. I meant that my bread machine had broken down and this is the last time I’d be baking bread, unless I get a new machine. But I am not sure I can find one that is cheap and good. The other brands are all about the range of $300 and above and since I am only using it for kneading, I am not sure if I will buy one at that price. My machine broke down the day I wanted to bake these rotiboy. So I spent almost an hour perspiring in sweat kneading it… puff puff!!  it was hard work and the breads were nice and fluffy and all gone in a single day…

I need a sponsor….

No Lefty Teach

posted by constance

How disappointed I was, when I wanted to pick up learning a guitar in the 90s. I am a left handed person and I had just enrolled in a local music school to learn the guitar. Alas, I could not find a teacher who could teach a left handed person like me. He decided that I should just get a classical guitar like everyone else did and he just thought me to play using my right hand. I faced frustrations but I did persevered.

But each time I walk past the music store, I can’t help but admire the gretsch left handed guitar that is displayed among other guitars. I wanted to get it but I can’t help wondering if I could get a left handed guitar who could go over the lessons with me again as a left hander. Should I give it a try now? Now there are many left handed guitars in the market but are there enough left handed guitar teachers?

Cat Whisperer

posted by constance

I have two cat whisperers at home…. I meant my girls. They are so crazy over cats or rather, the cats have gone crazy over them! Our front door is surrounded by cats in the morning and here is a picture I took just before I left for work. This cat was sitting outside my glass door waiting for my girls and mewing and peered in.

As long as it saw me, it started rubbing against my legs, not that I really liked it but felt a little fondness for this creature and it’s friendliness towards me. I am not a cat person actually.

I know my girls have been playing with these cats as they were tiny kittens last year. Now they are semi sized, compared with the adult cats and they have gotten used to my girls. No longer frightened, they try to come into the house, only to have me shooing them out.. sigh

Stars that ‘retire’

posted by constance

I am a fan of the morning express show on the radio. I have it one every morning and I enjoy the jokes, comments and music played in that show. It is never the same when one of them is away on leave, medical leave or doing some live event show elsewhere for the radio company.

Then I remembered other radio DJs that I used to listen to as I was growing up as a teen back in the 80s. I miss the Perfect 10 days and the DJs of that time. I remembered how their music had accompanied me to the wee hours of the mornings when I am rushing for my project datelines. Some of the DJs have moved on to host TV shows and gone into event planning such as weddings, festive events and corporate functions.

There are a few who have retired and started a family and decided not to go public anymore. How I miss them, actually. There are few good ones which I hope will make a come back one day.

Old Ticket

posted by constance

Look what I found! This is an old ticket that I found in my handbag… I had not seen this bus ticket for almost 15 years! I had not used my handbag for that long and not cleared the debris inside it. So I was actually surprised to find this.. How nostalgic and how I remembered fondly of the days when I took the bus to school, and subsequently to work.

Oldies are goodies. I just had to snap this picture of it. Who knows, we might not have bus tickets anymore in future since we are already using EZlink cards.
