Strollers for the Twins

posted by constance

Remember that I told you about the beautiful twins my friend had recently? Well, I know she is actually saving to get a stroller for her twin boys. Single strollers are expensive, sometimes coming to at least 300-400 each so a double stroller for twins will cost even more. Maybe one and a half times. Although it is not time yet since they are still babies, I know saving up means everything to her. I checked out the bumbleride indie twin strollers that she was eyeing online and hopefully get a good discount because it looks really nice. I hope that in the months to come, she will finally get to buy what she wishes for. I might just give her a red packet instead of the mall voucher so that she doesn’t have to buy from the mall intended but can use it to get the stroller at anywhere she wants too. Oh and probably some essence of chicken for her health too!

Only Medical Insurance left

posted by constance

Believe me. These are the only premiums left on my plate. Because they are paid for by my cpf account. The rest? I’ve terminated them, or rather surrendered them all. Investment policies sucks. Its better to save money now, I believe. I’ve been following my policies and they don’t make much after all these years. Blame it on the poor economy. Now I believe in cash at hand, or at least in the bank. At least you know how much interest you are getting. Now, if my premiums are still active, my agent tells me, you need to wait longer to see higher profits… that is something that had not been happening since… economy didn’t pick up for quite a while. But I don’t mind looking at termlife insurance than the longer term ones. But of course not everyone may agree with me. But termlife types may be expensive, especially for older adults. This is the new IN. Believe me.

Something Different

posted by constance

Don’t ask me if I have your contact card.. Because chances are, they are not looking that fine in my wallet. I dislike contact cards because after a while with all that creases and dog’s ears, I will just throw them away. My wallet cant fit them if they are too big because the pockets are not the standard contact card size. What I prefer is actually cards that are a little smaller because they are easier to tuck into the pockets. And I also don’t mind plastic business cards like our ATM and credit cards as they are longer lasting and I don’t have to worry about the condition after a while. A quick wipe will do the job and I still have a nice looking card. I would definitely pick plastic if you give me a choice of paper or plastic. Oh, perhaps recycled plastic?

Oxidized Chains

posted by constance

What am I going to do with the silver neckchains that my daughter wears? It has turned black like oxidized. My mom told me that it is not suitable for everyone to wear silver neckchains. Some of us are sensitive and only gold is the best to wear a pendant. So I guess my next shopping destination is to look for a 14k gold chain for her so that she can continue to wear her lucky gemstone and Mary pendant that Godma bought for her from Italy. Perhaps this is what also happens to her ear studs, she just couldn’t wear the silver ones that I got for her, even though they are sterling silver or high quality.. Guess my daughter is the golden child whereby only gold suits her? Even her skin has expensive taste!

Baby Prezzie

posted by constance

I am on the lookout for presents for my friend’s twin boys. She had just given birth to the most amazing boys with beautiful eyes I’ve ever seen. Those eyelashes are to die for, really! I know it is not easy juggling with two newborns at the same time. And everything has to be double since there are two babies! I can’t pass her my baby’s stuff as most of the baby stuff is pink since my babes are girls. Now is the best time to shop for baby bedding sets for boys as the Great Singapore Sale is still on! Bedding sets are not cheap and with twin boys, they certainly need more than the average baby! And I suppose a gift voucher would be handy for the things she really need to buy. Twins are double the cost, but double the joy when you see those smiles!

Small Business

posted by constance

My husband and I run a small food business. I remember back in 2005, we had insurance covered for our employees and once when one of the staff met with a medical emergency, we got the insurance to cover for his salary and medical fees for the days he couldn’t work. However, I have never come across insurance covers for loss of business to a certain extent as this insurance covers employees, not business costs. I am now searching for small business liability insurance because so far most of such coverage are for medium or bigger corporations. Do these premiums cover equipments or loss of business when something occurs like a fire hazard nearby in other shops or an event that blocks people from patronizing our stores? I have no idea but I do hope there is one somewhere… I am sure many who are in small business would like to have something like that.

More Dramas

posted by constance

Again, I cannot get away from the idiot box. I am now watching the 173th episode of Lee Family Reunion. So far they are playing it in Jia Le’s screening channel up to 19x episodes already. i am watching via the Jia Le channel in your own time. Pretty good, this way. As usual, they always have the same drama scenes, revenge after revenge, plotting on one another. The bad guys become the good guys and the good guys also become bad after a while. All to get even. And throughout it, they always have this DNA testing to confirm if the child is the parent. To date, there is still one more unborn baby to be tested, according to the story, as it goes. And I wonder why they can’t just get the dna home diy kits sold in pharmacies and get it done once and for all. The story goes around and the result is usually hidden from the one seeking the truth… ugh all that drama makes me want to strangle all that long winded stuff..

Last Bake

posted by constance

My bread machine had died. I don’t know when I will ever get to bake bread again. Manually kneading is tough and eeky. I remember the day when it died. I had just got the machine to mix the wet and dry ingredients just a short while. And when I was about to add butter that I realized the machine is not turning.. what a mess. What tough work for me then. The kneading.. I took about 45 minutes kneading the dough to make sure it became translucent when you hold it against the light. This is important when it comes to kneading process. Well although I managed to get it completed, inclusive proofing and baking afterwards, I don’t think I will ever do it again unless I get a new bread machine. Oh forget about it. They are just so expensive, the Kenwoods and the other Japanese brand. I want a cheaper one because the only function that I will use is only the kneading process.

Sigh. Goodbye homebaked fresh bread… tata

More Storage Please

posted by constance

I don’t have enough space in the car boot. I know it always happens when we travel long distance because we are the kind of family who loves to bring everything, including the kitchen sink (pun intended). Oh Boy. And we also love to bring back stuff so, can you imagine what happens if you already have too much luggage when leaving, how are you going to bring extra stuff back if you are short of space. Well, this time, recommended by a friend, Hubby is going to fit those whispbar roof racks so that we can add extra space compartment if need to. Also, it is a great idea if we intend to bring bikes along too. Isn’t that a great idea? A family biking together is really great fun!

When Age Matters

posted by constance

When Ah Boy was younger, he would go to the nearby community gym in the early morning doing sets of push ups, pumping iron and all that stuff I don’t really care about. Men working out is quite a norm in Singapore as many of them need to be fit in order to complete their National Service or face extra months if they are found to be obese or not meeting the healthy BMI range.

Most of the men wants to attain that muscular body with a six pack, although not everyone can. But at least looking lean is something they get to fulfill. Recently some of my friends and their male spouses, yes.. all of us have grown many, many years older now, and they too, like Ah Boy is not looking as fit as they used to. As I sit among them in one of our group gatherings, the men started to chat about how difficult it is these days getting that muscular body or even get a decent muscle without extra hard work. Some of them admit to taking supplements like Myodrol and others to expedite muscle building. But as usual they would pass down information and read up on myodrol review to one another to ensure that this product is safe.

Always remember that reviews are very important even before you embark on anything that you are not familiar with. Ask your friends, family members or even your family doctor to be sure.
