No Sports on C

posted by constance

Since the World Cup fad ended, the hype on sports news had also toned down drastically. Many of my friends protested paying the expensive subscription and decided to go to the local community centres, pubs and other places to watch the game. And many of us who do not enjoy soccer, football nor rugby, longed for the ESPN tennis games which starhub loses the right to air it. When I browzed on the internet, there are some sites that offer exciting other sports, like motorsport sites like ATVsport that has great atv racing news, tips and updates on this extreme sport. I wonder if there is such dedicated sites on the web on the tennis games just as well. And if there are, I can just say goodbye to the local cable guy since it is so expensive just to watch a decent sports or movie channel.

Tired

posted by constance

Everyone at home is sick. My elder complains of headaches and tummy-aches. She is also having some alternative exams and I think her tummy-aches are associated with her stage-fright syndrome. She is afraid to speak up and she has to prepare for her show and tell in Chinese. My younger one is having runny nose and my helper is also not feeling well. So, mummy have to wrap up everyone in bed and do the domestic stuff.

I’m facing exhaustion from work too. Too many things have come up yesterday, causing me much distress and I am hoping this episode will pass quickly. There are also 101 things to do lately, such as clearing my email folder.. I get many types of mails like those asking for financial assistance to transfer money, sites that provide you with the best fat burners online, mails that are from other friends who just conveniently just ‘cc’ them to me.. sigh. And too many mails informing about other promotions like ToysRUs, telco ones and even that odd chain mail. How strange why my spam utility button don’t filter some out.

Bulk

posted by constance

I was browzing through the newspaper for business opportunities the other day. So many agents looking for recruitment. Is this a good part time to try? So many restrictions in property purchases lately and the rules changes non stop. You really must keep up with the latest government set of rules and read the papers regularly.. Besides property recruitment, there are also many selling large quantities of clothes in wholesale lots.. I have not been to such sales and I do want to be caught with such bulk at home. Furthermore, not too sure if any defects on these clothings as they are mostly from China. Read too much about defected goods and how fake ones too.

No Four Seasons

posted by constance

It’s been pouring often in the mornings. I wish I could stay in and continue sleeping the morning away but I really have to get up for work by 5am, sigh. We do not get the wonderful four seasons like other countries. How nice to have a little fireplace and warming marshmallows, right? We only have rain and sun throughout the whole year. The closest to a cool day is when it pours and cools the weather. In such mornings, it can be really chilly. How nice to be able to snug into the warm blanket for those with winter mornings. A fireplace in our Singapore weather will definitely have us cooked/smoked/steamed to death at home… Perhaps an electric fireplace with display lights would be more like it. But there are such products that is not for display but heats up the living for those living in chilly countries… nice and convenient.

Kids’ Baking Fun

posted by constance

If you read my food blog on my Pink cupcake using premix – Strawberry Tropics Cake, perhaps you might want to get them for your kids’ baking fun experience. I did that one wednesday last month when I was off from work. Rae’s friend had been visiting and is quite a regular at our home. I decided to get the kids to do something so baking seemed fun and since it was a premix, it was simple. They loved it of course, from the beating, adding ingredients, putting them into cups and eating them of course!

Oh, of course kids can create a SPECIAL kind of MESS so it would be good if you can get them to do all that mixing outside. I did that in the balcony from the kitchen because I can give the table and floor a good scrub after that..

Stop that Lingo please!

posted by constance

I am no techie and I really hate manuals. I would prefer to pay for someone to handle all the troubleshooting for anything that had complicated lingo in it because my mind just shut off anything that is not in MY PARADIGM.. LOL

So not surprising, when a friend talked about something called prototype 37c, I just went ‘a huh’ and nodded or shook my head. She then asked me, ‘hey! you don’t want to know what that means, huh?’.. I told her, “Boring’ please go straight to the point, in plain English.. ‘caaannn..’?” So she told me, that was a ‘wrinkle cream’ and my face just lit up immediately! Oh, please don’t label me ‘bimbo’ OKAY? So, does it work? I don’t know. Waiting for my friend to test it FIRST and I’ll be the judge! LOL

If it works, I don’t mind getting it… when you are getting older and older.. as long as something works!

When she was petite

posted by constance

Rae has always been small build. She was the shortest in class, the smallest in size and she sat right in front for photo taking, most of the time. Several photos had the teachers carried her instead! Hilarious! I had to buy bags/shoes/clothes that are sized extra-small or petites for her as the average small is still enormously big for her small frame. This happened from nursery to kindy and to her first two years in primary school. However, as if some human growth hormone had been activated, she seemed to have finally grown taller and looked more of the acceptable height and size among her friends. ‘Oh, perhaps her friends stopped growing..’ chirps Daddy… LOL Not too sure about that and not wanting to jinx anything, I’ll continue to keep my fingers crossed!

Now that Lea is going to enter Primary One next year, I guess I do not have to worry about her size and getting everything at extra small because she is already almost like Rae in size, and she wears just a size smaller when it comes to shoes. And they are 4 years apart! Rae was born 200g in weight lesser than Lea.. not very much different though.

They are on FB too

posted by constance

My girls are addicted to the pc. They cannot stop playing online games, go on facebook and do all the things mummy says not to. Luckily I monitor them on their facebook accounts now and then and delete out friends not suitable or some I don’t even know at all. I know they love playing all those games on FB especially Pet Society and some hotel or restaurant game. My youngest who is not totally literate yet, acts as if she is an ‘old hand’ at writing emails and sending gifts, etc! All she does is click here and there and pretends to be typing at a speed of no less than 30 words per minute! I once peep and saw that those were nonsense text, so.. those of you who has her on your friends list, be prepared to receive online text messages or emails, that don’t really mean anything! LOL One thing on my mind though, is to get started on those parental controls and filter on their surfing soon..

Popping in an Acne pill

posted by constance

When I was growing up and my friends were reaching puberty, many of them had very bad breakouts. I read that it was due to our changing hormones. Of course, there were also friends who didn’t even encounter breakouts at all. I was the lucky few but then, as I grow older now, I get my breakouts due to certain food intakes, such as nuts, chocolates and other ‘heaty’ foods like deep fried items. Some of my friends who experience the same, tried many types of acne creams but they don’t really work but cause more scarring or worst than ever breakout. It was when I was browsing on the internet, I found acnepril, something not to be applied but taken orally. That is when I remember that my girlfriends at work took something similar – orally, I meant. Vain as they are, they told me that these work from the inside out and help to balance our hormones first, then it helps to prevent further breakouts and they work much better than creams on our face. Would you have tried application acne creams or oral types? If the latter works, just imagine how convenient it would be, popping in a pill like our vitamins!

Will it cause Breakout?

posted by constance

I have this sudden craving for chocolates. And it must be the bitter sweet type. Whenever I go to the supermarket, I just cannot resist going into the candy and sweet lanes, looking longingly at chocolates! Hersheys, Cadbury, Lindt and some looking extra exclusive in nice pretty boxes! Normally, I would just buy one that has a nice roast almond with bitter sweet chocolate. I don’t really fancy the milk chocolate ones as they are too sweet. I saw this Cadbury chocolate Duo that has half bittersweet chocolate and half milk chocolate.. Coudn’t resist so I bought a bar since it was on a special offer too. I better drink lots of water after that just in case a sudden breakout of acne would occur if I took the whole bar? Should I or shouldn’t I? Or should I just arm myself with an acne medication first?
