I still don’t understand how I can receive ‘cold calls’ from strangers trying to sell me insurance premiums and etc. I don’t really give my personal mobile numbers to just anyone. I heard that some people collects numbers of people they know and release that to some telemarketing company and earns some profit.. How true I really do not know but I do dislike those sales people calling me and asking me how many credit cards I own or telling me that I’d been ‘specially’ chosen to receive some special offer of some premium.. How tricky… I’d rather ask for insurance quotes on my own than to have these people trying to get my personal information by pretending to go ahead to ask how many cards I own, and the like! Sometimes I just ask them, if they have my number, and if they are truly authorized by the bank why do they need to ask me for such information. This usually leaves the people on the other line baffled and speechless for some few seconds.. HA!

I thought to myself the other day.. boy, it must be at the wrong time! The television is coming to the end of it’s lifespan… Turning on the tv is just irritable because it makes weird sounds and the pictures and sounds become ‘choppy’. You won’t be able to make out what the characters are saying.. Just really bad. Our TV is still the large bulky one. Of course it makes perfect sense to get those slim type. At first we thought that since there are many electronic sales, we might just check out a cheap LCD TV for the living. Not only did we find television sets still expensive, but the new ones are all either HD ready or full HD quality… no point getting those big bulky type now. The only cheap ones available are the display sets.. wonder if those are any good..
It’s been few years since I started blogging… I remembered how green I was and how much I relied on my online friend to help me out whenever I faced blogging problems. There is always so much to learn and till now there will always be something new coming up everyday. I remembered how ‘uneducated’ I was about, seo software but because I wanted to boost traffic to my websites, I had to learn how to upload templates and more. . I too remembered how irritated I was whenever I had to log into the c panel to upload some stuff just so that my pc can work accordingly. Soon it will be time to pay up for my sites and I still have no idea if I have time to blog and maintain the blogs I own. I wonder if in three decades to come, I will still be blogging.
I am still on that search for a glucosamine, perfect for me. The type that I need must NOT have any sulphur or sulphur based in it. Many of these glucosamine that is sold in pharmacies has sulphur and I am allergic to it. It gives me hives and it will not go away unless I am on medication for at least half a year! Depressing indeed, I have had two encounters with it because I just had to have a go at eating oysters, the fresh and raw type. Lately because I am feeling some pain in my knee, many of my friends started recommended me this glucosamine cream to apply to counter the pain. Not sure how it works, compared with the oral type but I am going to try and get a tube of it soon. Hope it helps my poor aching knee, probably my cartiladge depleting soon…
I dislike those sales girls that trail you hoping to get you to buy their products. Acne creams, wrinkle creams, eye bag gels, facial moisturisers, shampoos and etc. Most of the time they hog your way and even tell you some nasty things about your skin so that you will end up buying their stuff because you believe that when they tell you your skin looks horrible, you just got to buy some kind of their products that they claim will work on you. Sounds familiar? Well, this method of hard selling seems to be staying because there I was, in a supermarket hoping to check out on some new shampoo and this lady just wouldn’t budge out of my way. She kept saying that my pigmentation will not go away unless I use this product she is selling… I ignored her and she rattled on and on and on. Irritating it was although I was a little curious over this body acne treatment she has among the products. But I ended up not even going near because I could almost feel her breath on my neck… Some privacy she is giving me…
I would have loved to buy all the fruits that are on sale at the supermarket. Rock melons at $2.95, Mangoes at $1.00 each, Fuji Apples, Grapes, Korean Strawberries and that odd Custard Apples and Chikus. The only thing that is stopping me are that my fridge is so full. They are filled with prawns for work, vege for work, containers of stock, chilly sambal and so much more. And the other thing that is stopping me from buying is that I have no time for fruits. But if you ask me to choose between food and fruits, chances are I will choose the latter. After all they are all natural vitamins and sugar. Lately I have not have much appetite for food but fruits are still alright for me. Guess they are really a good source of sugar, fibre and also vitamins. One can always get carbo from bananas, vitamins from various fruits and vegetables and fibre from most as well. Perhaps it is good for us to go on a fruit diet too, eh. Can do alot to your complexion too!
This lady at work asked me to buy two boxes of tea for her from the chinese medical hall. It is not the normal kind of tea. It is a slimming tea that she had been taking for a month. I’ve seen teas like those but of a different brand but somehow, I’ve never thought of buying them. Herbal teas that makes you purge, I’ve tried.. LOL but those that helps you to slim down, I’ve not.
How does such tea works, I wonder? Does it help to ‘wash’ or remove the oil in our body or does it belong to the category of foods that burn fat? I know there are capsules taken orally that do help you to burn fat, increase metabolism and some even blocks fat, sugar, oil – useful for when you have this ‘high’ on sugary stuff.
Anyways, I hope it works for my friend, or at least – it helps her think more positively towards weight control. It was only after years of cajoling that she finally decides to loose some weight (according to her bosses and colleagues) with this tea she is taking. Good luck, Ah Hao!
While spring cleaning a large cupboard at home, I found my old scanner. Boy, this one is so dated but it was really well used in the 90’s. I used it to scan negatives, positives and all sorts of photographs and prints for work and home. It had a usb port but in those days, I didn’t even use it. My Mac had no usb port yet! I think it was just a SCSI cable that I used to fix onto my big hard disk. It was a UMAX scanner and in those days, this is the brand that many designers would find reasonable in price and good for work. It came with a CD ROM with a scanning software to install and one could even do some editing on it but most of the time, I just imported the scanned pix onto photoshop as I needed to do more advance photo editing. Ah Boy asked me to bring it to Cash Converters and I did.. guess what happened.. they didn’t want it so I just dropped it into the big trash bin outside the shop.. It was hard letting it go but I just had to. Too many things had piled up at home. Besides, no one uses such scanner anymore.. Good Bye, Umax.
