Ticks and Flea Control

posted by constance

A few blocks from the place where I work is a hardware shop. This shop owner has an adult dog, very much like a retriever and it is really friendly. It roams the few shophouses and is a regular to our shop too. He gets a treat of some roasted duck parts from my neighbour stall owner. I am amazed at the healthy coat this dog has. I asked if this dog ever had problems with ticks or fleas since it roams freely during the day. The owner said that he sometimes apply some Flea preventative medication on the dog. I forgot to ask him the brand of it so in the evening, I did a research online and found one by the name of Frontline. Apparently this particular brand of medication not only kills fleas and ticks but it’s eggs and larvae as well. Guess those who breeds dogs and cats would love some heads up on this product.

Any Luck?

posted by constance

I had to throw a little table from my balcony yesterday. The top kind of warp at the corner and some parts of it were rusty and it didn’t seemed a great idea to keep it. My friend told me that if I wanted to put any tables or chairs, it is best to look for those placed under the outdoor furniture section. These types do not need too much maintenance as the materials are made to last longer and can withstand rain and shine. It would be nice to sit in that corner to read a book or just enjoy the breeze. I wonder if I can also get a small water fountain for that corner.. Will that bring in some good fengshui? My balcony is located in the South West corner. I certainly could use some fortune luck now…

No Chicken Feet Please

posted by constance

If there is one thing that I will not eat is Chicken Feet. LOL. This is Ah Boy’s favourite and he will gladly cook a big bowl of it for dinner. He did that recently but I will not touch it.. I am just terrified by the look of the scaley feet and I imagine what these chicken had stepped on too. Okay I am just pathetic but truly I am petrified so please don’t ask me to eat them. Some people say that eating chicken feet may cause one’s hand to tremble so I’m not sure how much truth it contains. But I sure know my lips will quiver and tremble at the sight of it.

Grease and Oil

posted by constance

The other day, someone gave my handphone number to these people who sells a specific vacuum equipment. The people came down to do a demo and free sanitization on my matteress to show me how effective it can be used to prevent dust mites and allergy problems. As much as I love it, I still cannot afford to purchase because this product is really expensive. They asked me if I were given the choice, would I purchase it by instalment or get their service on a monthly basis. In my mind, I actually do not want another vacuum but I do want one of those pressure washers which I know they do not have. That is because the kitchen floor at work is rather greasy as there is this fella who does roasts and he comes in early at 2am to roast his duck, pork and chicken. I should hint that he gets those hot water pressure to clean his oily floor!

Wishes

posted by constance

Lea made a wish for her birthday last Tuesday. She wished for a puppy.. If I have a home with a garden, I would not hesitate getting one BUT… we don’t. There is no garden and all we have is a balcony which is already filled with too many things like our store shed, big commercial fridge, few tables, washing machine and etcetera, etcetera, etcetera! How can I have a pup which will eventually become a dog… errr… Lea insisted to go in a pet shop the other day and even chose one of those rattan basket pet beds for her future puppy.. I just told her not till we know how big the dog will grow into.. Is it wise to get a pup? What about when we aren’t home and what about holidays.. send it to a pet motel?

Technology helps

Ah Boy has big dreams. He dreams of having his line of franchise in the business. Me, on the other hand now want a simple life and spend more time with family. Material and career are now far behind in my mind. LOL. I once thought of starting a small supermarket but then again, I realized that inventory is just too much work. Small marts have limited manpower compared with those big supermarket chains. There is a need to invest in one of those POS systems like a barcode scanner to keep up with your products and if they are running low. I’ve watched how much work it takes for those hands on mini mart and how they have to practically make counts daily to check if anything is in need of requisition. All you need is a scanner and when a product is scanned out upon purchase, the computer lists down the list of items to be ordered. How practical.

Indoor Sport

posted by constance

I remembered Mediacorp’s chinese drama Table of Glory pretty well. Dai Yang Tian played a cool looking dude in the show and my daughter just loves it. She has been pestering me to let her play Ping Pong ever since the show started and ended few months ago. Frankly, we never played much Ping Pong as a family but since the show, Rae and Lea has showed some interest in wanting to play this sport. We have two options. Either go to the nearby sports complex to rent the tables and play or get a ping pong table ping pong table for home. I need to check out the size and wonder where can I place the table.. Perhaps I can double it as a study table too? I does look like a big table but they can be folded and store away so maybe it’s still possible to have one at home?

Lea won a picnic set in a funfair a month ago. But she’s not too keen to use it like any other picnic set. She has been ‘playing’ with it in her own way. See what she made recently when I got back from work.. a sculpture! She loves making sculpture actually. She can change and make many different variations with these plates, cups, forks and spoons and she never gets tired of them at all.. LOL

I wonder if she may have the potential to be a building designer in future? Aaahh.. just a thought. Perhaps MOM’s expectation is too high?

In the past month, my girls have been complaining that we seldom bring them out except for dinners. That is because we are at work most part of the day, including weekends. However, we are usually home by 5pm after getting our supplies for the following day’s business. And sometimes when we don’t cook, we just pigged out at our favourite Boon Tong Kee Chicken Rice outlet nearby opposite Beauty World. I love their congee although I know they are really sloshed with lots of MSG! And the chicken always tastes heavenly too. Makes me hungry just thinking about it.

Half Chicken that we ordered… Quick take before being attacked!

Walking is Good

posted by constance

Some days I feel like going for a run. That feeling usually comes in when I wake up in the wee hours in the morning at about 4.45am. Yes, I wake up as early as that these days. To get ready for work, of course. Early as it may seem, I’ve gotten used to it and my eyes automatically opens about 4.30am before the alarm sounds. I used to stay up late but these days, by 10ish I am in dreamland. I guess I can put off planning to go for diet since I am on my feet most of the time at work. Now that I have proper shoes, walking briskly at work keeps me fit. Of course that still doesn’t stop me reading up about weight loss pill reviews whenever there are some new products in the market.. Guess this has been a habit of mine.. I especially enjoy reading how people get satisfaciton from a certain product and then I’ll go and do some research on the ‘ingredient’ or ‘contents’ and find out if they are natural products or not. Peculiar? Ermmm nope.

Reading Up

posted by constance

A friend of mine I met commented that I lost weight recently. She asked if I had decided to go on that diet that I’ve mentioned for a very long time. She even asked if I’ve tried any diet pill, which I didn’t. She had been on a particular diet pill that worked for her for a while. She wrote the name on a piece of paper and asked me to read about Fenphedra reviews to decide if I want to also try it. There are so many types of pills to help us lose weight and I really have no idea which one of these work best. Each product works differently on each individual. Never take anything without any of your GP’s proper advice or consultation if you have any underlying health concerns.

Then again, perhaps it would do no harm to read up more about Fenphedra first.
