Look like a Star

posted by constance

So, wanna look like Cher or the late Marilyn Monroe? No? How about Jennifer Lopez then?

The world of movie stars are all filled with glamour and beautiful people. How and where on earth do they get so much time to look so fresh, well dressed, hair in place and looking slim all the time. Do they get the time for exercise or look for the best weight loss products online? Guess it must be the stars best secret kept in closed doors? Money is King but I’m sure without that much moolah, we surely get some good stuff as well? I just wondered if I had lost any weight at all since I started working two weeks ago? I need to weigh myself, maybe tomorrow then I will know the answer!

I want to work from home!

posted by constance

I am tired and exhausted. I wish I can be at home with my children. Starting work is not easy.. and with school starting soon on Monday, I guess I have to make many arrangements for them to take school bus. If I have a home business, I wouldn’t have to worry about that and I can stay home and watch over them daily and help them with homework.. No more being a stay home mom for me.

I am counting the days when I have that quality time with them soon. I hope I won’t have to wait too long. After coming back home, I still have to go out to do the marketing for the business and then tie some loose ends like some accounts. Where on earth is that ‘long lost’ uncle, great grandfather or distant relative which I had never known, who might just pass on his rich estate or lost treasures to me? Okay, I won’t dream anymore. Pinch me awake now. Ouch!

Asbestos and Risks

posted by constance

When I was growing up, many homes were built with asbestos rooftops. However, because medicine technology were less advance, many didn’t know the health risks of mesothelioma, which is a rare cancer that has no known cure. However, there are still many factors that can be considered, such as age, location, overall health before one decides the best treatment options for considerations, non traditional, included. It is always good to read up more about mesothelioma news, treatments and more to understand the symptoms. There are some patients who actually tried immunotheraphy and responded well to it. Perhaps that should be an inspiration to those who suffers from it.

Change

posted by constance

It will be few months away before I renew my car insurance. Before that, I hope I can look or get some free insurance quotes as the current premium seems like a little more than my other friends. I wonder why.. is it the third party coverage? Is it age? All I can think of is that insurance policy tends to be on the higher side when a car has claimed some amount that had resulted in some accident damage, which I’ve not done so.

I am hoping to save by a hundred or more each year. My car is now more than 6 year old and is not really in need of much care but I guess the insurance is to cover other stuff like repair for other party, etc. Anyway, I really need to do some homework first.

Any good recommendations?

Desktops, Lappies, Death, Flash.. mish mash post

posted by constance

So many things happened lately. And the worst ever was having both my desktop and laptops down in action.. sigh.. At first it was my desktop that keep getting stop errors. Then my lappie couldn’t boot up too after hubby upgraded some vista thingy online…  And with me being so busy, it was hard to rectify or troubleshoot these darn problems. I sent my laptop back to Asus and let them reformat it.. Gone are the pictures and files but lucky I actually followed my sixth sense to copy my pictures from the desktop pc to my external hd before it happened. But the one on my lappie, gone. Never mind. After the news of blogger HNKP’s death, just a week ago, I put these things into categories of less importance. It is good to try to focus to issues like our families and friends in our life now.

The news of MJ’s death also was a shock to me. Then Farrah Fawcett’s death.. gosh.. I am starting to hyperventilate a little each day..

Anyway, I also want to ask around for those who have upgraded their flash to version 10. Do you have problems uploading your images in wordpress platforms? How to get around this issue?

Money and Time..

posted by constance

I haven’t been reading the papers for weeks! I guess because I’ve been too busy with work and when I get home, I have to be out for some marketing. Then by the time I get home, I spend time with other things at home so I get tired and exhausted daily. This morning, however, I flipped through the papers and saw so many travel deals advertised lately. They range from cruise, flights, hotels, resorts and more.. They are all very tempting..

My neighbour also text me a message to help her retrieve her morning papers for a week because they are away for vacation in Bintan. It’s only a week more before school starts. I don’t have the chance to go anywhere since financially I am tight and I am so busy at work. Hopefully when everything falls into place by the end of the year, I can get some time off for a short holiday too.

So, anyone went anywhere or did anything interesting?

Start Work

posted by constance

I am blogging lesser these days. Well, I’ve been busy at work. I wake up as early as 5am to be at work. Well, I started a little food stall just a few days ago. Like they say, time waits for no man so this was sort of ad-hoc find for us as I was also looking around. I’d have love to have a small bakery but when I recce many shops, I found that many shops are still been rented at high prices. We found this little food stall near home and hubby suggested that while he works on his proposal for something else, we should just grab this place first. It is tough going back to work and I get so little time left for my children and blogging. Getting up this early and work till about 2pm leaves me exhausted and my feet aching. I need to get the right pair of shoes that is non slippery type, perhaps those safety boots worn in commercial kitchen. Since I have been on my feet so much, I am not in a hurry to find that diet pills that work since work is quite laborious.

I have just started work for a few days and we are monitoring to see if this location is worth staying put or look for another location where the traffic is more. I went to many malls and shops and the current rent is about the range of 5k per month.. pretty high for a small shop. I hope to find one as soon as possible.

Should We Stay

posted by constance

In the past three weeks, I’ve been in a roller coaster mood. We have been in serious discusssion about either staying on in Singapore or move to Malaysia. So many things have happened and we are trying to weigh the good, the bad or the worst. Economic crisis did not spare us, frankly. I worry about my children much more than anything and if I can give them the life they have been living. It is time to stay frugal and stay calm, and keep our fingers’ crossed. Moving to Malaysia means we have to start all over again too. I fret packing most but I did come across some companies that offers long distance moving package at reasonable prices. A friend has done that and says that they even come to help you pack your things in boxes and save you lots of hassle in moving.

In the meantime, my hubby and I have started a small stall selling some food just to test the market and to put food on the table. I hope things will pick up soon so that we can revert back to our normal life.. I hope to hear some good news at least by the end of the year.

School Vacation Now

posted by constance

It’s been more than a week of school vacation now. The girls get about a month of holidays before they start 3rd term school. The school teachers didn’t spare my eldest with work, of course. She has some Science project, English worksheets, Chinese and Maths to complete. I’ve been nagging her to quickly get it over and done with so she can enjoy her holidays better. But it’s proved to be futile.. perhaps I will get her to complete it by this week. Last week, she spend the whole week on pc games. I had been busy and her clockwork starts from 7am only stopping for meals! I call home and told her not to be on the pc too long but it doesn’t work. She knows how to plug in the power point and turn on the pc and even updated the virus thingy now. Nothing stops her. Unless I disconnect the router.. or change my password. But that is not the right way. I have to talk to her more.

If I were not as busy, I’d have brought the girls outdoors to play more. I feel so bad but at the moment, something’s come up at home and I’m tied up. Will blog about it soon when things are more settled of course. If I have the money, I’d have brought the girls to Hong Kong Disneyland but I’m so tight financially.. I know holidays are no fun staying at home but maybe just one day, I’ll have the means to make it a lovely holiday for the girls.

Lucky for me, Rae’s best friend’s Mom took them out for a wonderful day out last week. They went to fish farm and do some prawn fishing, dine at a restaurant and she even brought them to the art studio for painting. Such a nice mom. I can’t thank her enough. If you are reading this, Sherry, Thanks a load!

Here’s the portrait my daughter painted, of her Best Friend!

I thought it has some resemblence of her best friend… This will be a keeper!
