Big Ticket Item

posted by constance

My girl told me many times before that she wanted to drive a pink coloured car when she is old enough to drive. I told her I have not seen a pink car but maybe only one that was a sporty Nissan March years back. On a trip to the shopping centre last week, my girl shouted at the top of her voice and said, Mummy! Pink Car Pink Car! I was cruising to park the car and I spotted it too. Wow it was really in Pink, It was not fuchsia pink, thank goodness but something pastel. I thought it was quite pretty.

It was a Peugeot but not too sure which model it was. My girl kept talking about how much she wanted to have that car.. wow.. Moms are not made of money. I told her she can get it if she works hard in school. She need to earn some money first before she could buy any car.

My younger daughter chirped in. She said, “Mummy, you don’t need money, you can just use your credit card!”. I was speechless, of course. Perhaps when I have someone who will gladly supply me with a high limit credit card.

Girls Addicted To Online Games

posted by constance

My girls lately gets to use the laptop for games. Why? Because Mommy needs to blog downstairs using the desktop. Although the laptop has more RAM memory, I still prefer a desktop for convenience and the keyboard is a real ASDF size, if you know what I mean! Anyway, since they have gotten a taste of the laptops, they have been asking non stop for it. They refuse to sleep during the weekends waiting for Dear Daddy to turn the laptops on for them. They know Mommy always say know. They will call Daddy on the phone to be back early and they will wait up.

So during Saturday nights, the girls get to go on a laptop each. Rae is on Daddy’s touchscreen and Lea gets to use the one with the mouse. They are both on the makings to online addiction, just like Mommy!

Handy Man Hubby

posted by constance

The door in the connecting bathroom upstairs is having some trouble at the hinges. I had to highlight it to the man of the house because he loves to tinker with building materials and thinks his toolbox is really complete. He was fixing some part of the door in the weekend when he asked me to grab some tools like a plier and few other things. He managed to fix it and told me that he is looking into getting some air tools for collection and I went blank. Gosh, I am so bad being handyman so I really have no idea what it was until he told me that they are similar to those electrical drills and device but air tools are generated by air pressure. Of course, I just nodded. After all, there is so much that I know.

Looty Time!

posted by constance

A month ago, at the trip to the arcade, we managed to get these two items for rewards for the girls. A red and cream Winnie the Pooh bag and a purple Glitter carry bag. Guess what I was eyeing and got recently.. the blue Winnie the Pooh bag and a blue Glitter carry bag.

Guess I am just terribly addicted and these rewards were somehow the pull to the challenge. I do so want to get the whole collection of what they have in the arcade. These items are only available as rewards or jackpot prize and cannot be purchased. The tag usually reads Sega Prize. I am now looking a display cabinet for all the prizes if I can wrestle them off the girls.. *wicked grin* hahaha

Cool Breeze Versus Aircond

posted by constance

The weather is wet lately. It’s been raining throughout the whole day and stops only for a few hours before it pours again. The wind is blowing cool air from my bedroom and in the evening, you can hear it howling. It takes some effort to close the door because the wind is blowing against it too. Lucky for the door magnets, it prevents the door from slamming away upstairs. For the past few nights, I told my daughters that we should not have the air condition turned on but they protested openly. They have been used to it since the day they were born and it is hard persuading them to sleep without it. Sometimes I have to nag at them because when the go out of the room, they leave the door on and that probably stresses my ac compressor to work doubly hard. I believe it is time to get the ac maintenance over for some servicing before condensation happens.

Cool Shots in a Health Fair

posted by constance

Last Sunday, Singapore General Hospital had a Health Roadshow creating awareness about Colon Risks and Colon Cancer. There were many people there. There were many illustrative panels and also video screens showing the colons and animated shows about the internal organs. But those videos proved too much for me as I had not had my lunch yet. I wanted to view them but hubby was in a hurry to get lunch. He was starving as we did not take breakfast and it was almost noon! However I managed to take few shots and show you a cool picture idea SGH had done.

These are some of the educational panels. They were in bright red, very attractive actually. There were stations managed by some hospital personnels that teaches you the important foods and the risks that could lead to colon problems. They even let you pick up a 2day stool test kit free if you want to. It was a success, this roadshow because many Singaporeans showed interest.

If you register to take part in their road show, you can get a cool picture shot for you. What kind of picture? Your portrait? nope! Look below.

This is what I meant. Look at this picture. It is an operating theater in the centre of the road show, created for picture taking. Give them your ticket and they don you up in a mask, a surgeon’s operating coat, a head cover and you are the next Surgeon of the Year. You get to hold some surgeon’s operating tool and pretend that you are operating on that fake mannequin under the sheets! I think this is cool. I saw from a level above that some took the pictures as a family.  Families taking it look like a group of surgeons operating on this mannequin! Awesome! I wanted to take a picture but I think Hubby wasn’t interested at all. It’s no fun taking the picture alone..  Would you participate in this if it were you?

Arcade Rewards

posted by constance

This post was supposed to be up a month ago. Another arcade loot that we were rewarded with. Look at the purple carry bag that glitters. It is really pretty. That one goes to Little Lea because Purple is her favourite colour, the colour of Barney, The Purple Dinosaur. The Winnie the Pooh bag (with red spine) goes to me because Rae didn’t want it. I love to collect bags so that is wonderful for once the kids are not eager. Rae wanted the big Grey Hippo instead. The toy figure of a Japanese Anime thingy goes to Daddy, of course.. and the rest were just unowned. So look at the sweets we got again.. As usual, they go into my Pinata. Aren’t you curious how much sweet we have collected since we started playing months ago? Enough to build a little hill!

Have you been following my arcade loot?

Payment Due

posted by constance

I can’t believe how time flies. We are aging year after year. Lots of changes in the buildings, technology, and increased of prices for all food stuff and products. We see the days and months just whizzed by us. I always thought I could buy time to save up for things, holidays and more shopping. But my bills are coming in fast and furious. Before I knew it, my car insurance company is billing me again! These are the kind of payments that sometimes I had not put aside for months, and suddenly it is right in your hands. Guess I have to dig it out from some savings or else I won’t be able to get any road tax renewal done when the time comes. My car is getting older so I shan’t want to spend too much on car insurance. Perhaps the most basic package plan is sufficient. There’s about  a few years more before I have to scrap it into that Milo Tin.

Baby’s Reminder

posted by constance

Few of my friends are in their final stage of pregnancy. They are now in the task of shopping for baby, and getting all the items for welcoming baby’s arrival. One of my friend lives in another country. If she had lived in the same country, I’d gladly pass her some of the baby’s stuff. I still have my younger daughter’s cot in the other room. It is taking up space in the room. I didn’t dismantle it because I was thinking of taking a photo but I’ve been procrastinating, like always. My hubby said, hey it’s just one simple photo, you are taking months! Perhaps it is hard because I still want to have the reminder that my little girl is still a baby.. and my elder had outgrown it for a long time. Other than the baby cot, I still have the baby’s bottles, microwave steriliser, walker, baby toys, baby clothes and also the 2 strollers in the house. I bought a second lighter stroller when she was 2 years old because the other one was not “single hand” friendly. When you have a toddler and a stroller, you need things that can be operated in a single hand. Don’t you agree?

Trying Out The Outdoor Gym

posted by constance

It is the weekend and the girls couldn’t contain their joy when I told them we’d be going to the nearby outdoor gym this afternoon. We drove by recently and saw it being built and there was a small opening ceremony weeks ago. The weather today looked slightly gloomy but I brought them over anyway. It is only just two blocks away from home so just a short walk away. They had completed the outdoor workout area and there is also an large land where it had been cemented. I wondered if they were going to build anything on it later. I figured it could be a playing court or some sort but meantime, it is a large as a basketball court or maybe half the size of a football field. The community centre is only across the road so I do wonder if they will replicate a basketball court. When we got there, many young kids had been roller blading there, an advantage with its smooth ground. Good idea. And some kids even set up a little tent.

Overview of the Outdoor Gym and the weight lift equipment

Ski slide equipment, Rae on one of the leg workouts

Lea having fun on the kids’ section and Rae tries to do lifts.. ouch

Girls doing some jumps. The cemented area that has yet to be completed

There aren’t many ‘gym’ equipment but good enough for a short workout. There is the weight trainer where you lift the bars up while sitting on the seat. Each rooted down equipment can seat two on each side. There are 3 sets all together so 6 can train on it. 2 sets of it are the pull ups and 1 is for you to do lifts. Not bad, but I find these chest and arm trainers are a struggle. There are 2 sets of ski-like equipment too. You hold on and make ski-like movements with your leg. It works on your arms too. I like those. There are also 2 sets of smaller ski-like swings too but these time the handle bars are stagnant and you just place your arms on the bar as you slide walk. It was fun while I tried those stuff. There weren’t many people at that time. I wonder if there will be a queue in weeks.. Alongside these equipments, there are 4 little springy ride ons for kids too. Lea had fun with those while I exercised.
