Suicide Attempt Unsuccessful…

posted by constance

And Safety For Another Foiled..

I was reading yesterday’s newspaper about a woman who tried to kill herself. Well, this woman, a Taiwanese tried to commit suicide by jumping from a rooftop. She was Ms Kuo, 64, jumped from a five storey apartment building in near Taipei in this city called Chungho at about 2pm last Saturday (26th Aug). She was reported to have been ill and also attempted to commit suicide several times.

Although I am not the sort who would go into preaching, I felt that perhaps it is not the right time for her to die. If she had really been unlucky, she would have been dead in her earlier attempts. Even in this attempt of suicide, she was not successful in her death wish either. She had been given many chances to be alive but this poor woman had only that one motive in her mind, to be dead. That is so sad.

Did you really know what happened? Another woman Ms Lee, aged 53 who had just returned home with her husband, had been walking just on the ground level on that particular building. She moved below under the awning to avoid an oncoming vehicle just then. But her attempt to stay alive was foiled by Ms Kuo who jumped from the building, and fell on her. Suffering a brain haemorrhage, she died in the hospital.

We don’t really plan our lives and deaths. Just like the report above, one who do not want to die could not really avoid it at all. Had she not moved under the awning, she would have been knocked down by the oncoming vehicle. And the person who inflicted death punishment on herself is still alive. The big man up there is the person who has it all in his hands. He probably had it all mapped out.

In yesterday’s papers, it reported that an average or one suicide happens in every two hours. Last year alone, 3,900 Taiwanese killed themselves, and in Asia, Taiwan has one of the highest suicide rates!

Goo Girl is a Bad Man

posted by constance

Okay, let’s face it. Not many of my blogger friends like Goo girl very much. *wink* But, we swear by it. We live by it. Those are hard and fast rules to follow. If you are guilty of using your blog for money making opportunities, you probably get a roller coaster ride down in your Page Ranking. Yup Yup. That was what happened to me twice.

We don’t like it. Yet, we need them . Without PR, we can’t get jobs. Without jobs, no money. Few of my friends have also had their PRs swat. Just like mine. No joke. Zilch. Kosong. Naught. So we just wait patiently doing less paid posts (if possible) until the next update. Some of my blogger friends are swearing under their breath. Last night we all chat and shared common interests. Where are the ops! Was fun though. Catching up with bloggers actually.

So guess I shall be sleeping earlier, waking up later. And oh yes. I also resorted to using Goo Girl as the bad guy to get my girls to sleep at night. I tell them, if you don’t sleep the Goo Girl Man will come! NO JOKE! They are now wary of the Goo Girl Man. *wink*

Monday is full of anticipation

posted by constance

Oh it is the beginning of the week again.. A week just whizzed by before I realised it. Mondays are quite stressful because it makes me feel that I have lots of routine and errands to run in the beginning of a week. Sometimes my memory fails me so I need to jot down the things, datelines, and schedule that my kids have in school, out of school and also not neglect my blog here too.

I also need to buy myself a little notebook so I can safely write down all important information like signing in userids and passwords too. Sometimes my brain jumble up and it is difficult to remember which one is for which one! Do you get that? Life is filled with ids, passwords, pin numbers, account numbers and others. It’s giving me a headache already! And I have also been visiting the blogs less than often lately.. but I will be back once I get everything in order.. Now it’s all in chaos!

First Home

posted by constance

When I bought my first home many years ago, I had the chance to design my home from scratch. We did simple renovation for flooring, ceiling and walls. The little details came from the accessories that we added around the house. It was easier this way so that we can change the interior when we are sick and tired of it. The kitchen was a little more extravagant. We both love cooking. We made sure that there was a big stove oven and a separate kitchenette for dry items.  Among the items we splurge were the breakfast cum bar counter top with double sinks and bar faucets. After all the kitchen was big enough for both of us. It was a shame that we sold that off years later as we need more space as we were going to start a family. Being our first home, those little designer faucets were costly. But we were glad the young couple who bought the place loved them so much they didn’t do any renovation at all.

Couch Potato

I’ve had this craving for Good ‘Ol Fish and Chips lately. Every where I go, I will check to see if they have Fish and Chips. I love the type where they give you some malt vinegar on it.. An English Pub in Tanjung Pagar used to sell those. But I’m not sure if it is still around.

I love the slighly sourish taste of vinegar and I’d soak my chips in them. Practically drown them all in malt vinegar. The other day, I decided to buy a large pack of thick cuts fries. I’ve already got some home-made crumbed fish fingers all frozen in my freezer. I am waiting for my little Lea to recover then together, with Rae and Lea, we’ll have a great time just sitting in front of the television and watching some selected dvds and munching on ’em. Three couch potatoes enjoying life.

Of course I know that after this episode of stuffing my face, I probably have to source for the best acne treatments because I will probably be facing another outbreak then.

Super Supper

posted by constance

Hubby picked up some fresh clams when he went to get some beer at the grocers. He probably had the urge to eat more since it was his day off. I wasn’t really sure what he wanted to cook but he said a meal in a seafood restaurant in KL during the last vacation sent signals that he wanted to cook a broth with clams in them. So he bought some minced pork, corn on cob and fresh clams.

He started to make the stock for the broth but I wasn’t watching so not too sure what he used in it. But the end product was really delicious and it had a good amount of Chinese Cooking wine in it. The clams tasted really fresh and the minced meatball was also yummy. The best part was, of course the broth. We had seconds and thirds till it was empty. Kids were already in bed so it was a supper meal for us.. Perhaps I should name it Clam Broth in Cooking Wine?

Online Payment Solutions

posted by constance

My friend just shared with me her interest in doing an online store. I think that is a great idea. She has gone to wholesale markets in China and bought some stuff suitable for her online shopping site. The only thing now is to start an online shop. I have not prior experience in starting online stores. Perhaps she can use those turnkey solutions that can be found on widely on the net. Another important she needs to work out is the payment method. She can’t have people sending her cheques or money orders. That would be too restricted for a business. Imagine how a business can expand if she accepts online payment through credit cards, especially the major ones. She needs to consult the professionals or expert like those in

Lost Your Page Rank? I’m OK, This Time.

posted by constance

Ok Ok.. So Google finally caught up with me. What? My PR, of course. Before today, I had PR 3 on this blog and now it is PR 0. What can I say.. It’s sooner or later. Google has been doing this for the longest time. It’s not about how much or how little traffic you have. I believe it’s about doing paid posts.

For now, I can’t really do much about it. After all, Google rules. They did that to my other blog  early this year (they stripped my mere PR1 to PR0) but gave me back my PR (PR2) in early April. Now they strip this blog’s PR too. Guess I’ll have to wait several months later to see if they will give it back..

Would you be disappointed if they did that? I was, in January cos I only had one blog then. But this time, I guess I didn’t really feel disappointed or sad. It was an excuse to do less paid posts because I have been spending less time with my girls since I started with paid posts. That means with the lesser opportunity, I have more time with my girls.

So for those of you who have your PRs maintained, keep it up, for those who got additional PRs, congratulations. And for those like me, don’t worry. If you love blogging, keep it up. Google will give it back when they review Page Ranks in a few months.

And thanks to all my blogger friends who have been visiting and supporting my blogs. I will keep blogging, of course. And smell the roses a little. Call this a blessing in disguise. Have a great week!

Rain Rain Go Away

posted by constance

One day rain, one day sunny. That is how the weather is like, lately. Is it like that where you are now? It’s making me sick. The girls have started to cough too. I get headaches from making dashes to the car in either rain or under the hot sun. I wonder how long more is the weather going to be like that.

With this weather, we really have to watch out for Dengue fever. Mozzies love warm weather and with warm air and lots of water, it is likely to breed. Pair it with the female Aedes, the risk of Dengue is there. I see the officials from National Environment Agency (Government) coming around more frequent to make sure we don’t have water collecting in our planters. They take samples of water most of the time.

I think I also need to get more brollies for home. Most of those I have are getting to be almost a decade old… I have not bought one for that long. Most of them are gifts. But they are showing signs of wear and tear.

My girl has complained that she can’t go downstairs to have a game of badminton lately too. It’s too wet.
